Why?


Startups are incredibly hard and yet they can be so incredibly rewarding. My career is defined by my ability to consistently meet the challenge of delivering new products into new channels - and I wouldn't have it any other way. It's simply part of my DNA to sell, to compete, to win.

I've spent 10+ years of my career leading growth for trailblazing startups from clean-tech to Fintech - including Recyclebank, PlanGrid, Opower (successful exit), Olo, InAuth (successful exit), and as Cofounder at Navacy.

Having been from $1M to $30+M multiple times I understand what it takes to 'make it repeatable. Along the way I've learned hard-to-attain skills from the best - how to lead, recruit and hire exceptional talent, and build a sales stack that makes data-driven decision making easy.

Not too long ago I was approached by a group that has been working tirelessly to nurture the startup ecosystem in my hometown of Asheville, NC. They wanted 'mentors' - people with deep startup experience willing to spend time with new founders, share their own experiences, and help support fledgling startups stay on the path of growth. 

It's been a genuinely rewarding experience. Though I wasn't sure of how much value I'd be able to provide,  I was sure I'd enjoy geeking-out and talking startup strategies and growth tactics with like-minded individuals.

That's led me here. To a blog, where I hope to extend the conversation to a wider audience.
